What is a Transfer Fee?
In some states and territories there is a Transfer Fee payable when a property transfer document is lodged for registration with the relevant authority. The Transfer Fee is generally payable by the Purchaser and is in addition to Stamp Duty (which is sometimes known as Transfer Duty).
Transfer Fees are generally calculated as a percentage of the value of the property being transferred and they differ among the different states and territories.
